Hello 2005! The expression, "Time flies when you're having fun.", is overrated. It's been a looong time since I last posted a journal entry here and the last thing I've been doing is having fun. 2005 for me has been the longest year for me... and it's not even over yet. I knew 2005 was going to be a tough year for me. It was time to leave a job I didn't necessarily love, but I didn't mind so much. It was time to move on to bigger and better things... so I thought. I started the year off, pretty much at a new job. I enjoyed the new job, but the only bad things was, it was far from home. I had to wake up REALLY early to drive there and sit in So. Cal. traffic for 1 or 2 hours every day. Around April, a new job was found closer to home. I had a lot of hope for this new job, but again disappointed was right in front of me. I would rather keep my insanity that work at this 2nd place. Now, I'm on my own for now. I'm currently using my experience running myprincessdaisy.com and spreading my web site experience with new web sites. I'm really focused to making this work, but who knows. Well, enough about me. What about Daisy, you're probably wondering? Well, she's just perfect! She's about 2 1/2 years old now and still a sweetheart. We still haven't quite corrected her Mailman behavior, but I can definitely say that it is improving. Watching all those episodes of The Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan has finally paid off. Okay, so I didn't listen to the warning of, "Do not try this at home", but I figured I'd live on the edge and give it a shot. I've had several guest visit me throughout the year. Most of which Daisy would freak out when the visitor would enter my house. Using the techniques from Cesar Millan, I've learned that remaining calm and assertive, this type of behavior can be controlled to the point where Daisy can relax and just "hang out" with the visitor. Not necessarily interact or play with the visitor, but at least sit and not bark the entire time they visit. In itself, it's definitely an accomplishment, but the war is far from over. I will definitely keep everyone posted on this madness. As far as Daisy's health, all is good for the most part. The only thing I can truely say that isn't right with Daisy is her itchiness. She's been scratching herself ALL summer and it's almost driving me as nuts as it is her. I recently bought her Oatmeal shampoo to hopefully relieve some of the itching, but no luck so far. If anything, the shampoo made her more itchy. According to the bottle it says that if itching persists, then to shampoo about every other day until itching is gone. I've heard that bathing a dog in summer time isn't recommend and that it could actually dry out their skin worse. Who knows, right? At this point, I'm willing to try anything. So if anyone out there has any ideas, definitely send me an email at brian@myprincessdaisy.com and let me know. Other than this small set back, Daisy is great and I will be adding more pictures very soon! So check back in the next week or so for new pics. Again, sorry it's been so long for me to update this site. I hate getting older. That's the only excuse I can think of.
